A 29-year-old woman was admitted to a healthcare facility in Cherbourg, France, with severe abdominal injuries following a violent assault. The incident occurred on August 4, 2023, when the suspect, identified as 18-year-old Oumar Ndaye, allegedly broke into her home, assaulted her, and raped her using a broomstick.
The victim sustained multiple injuries, including ruptures of the colon, small intestine, abdomen, and diaphragm, as well as a ruptured lung and broken ribs. She underwent several hours of surgery and was placed in a coma due to the severity of her injuries.
Ndaye, who reportedly has a criminal record, was arrested at his mother"s residence and is currently in custody. Reports indicate that he showed no remorse for his actions. The case has received limited media attention since the incident.
