Today marks the 92nd anniversary of the Holodomor, a famine orchestrated by the Soviet government from 1932 to 1933. This tragic event resulted in the systematic starvation of over 3.5 million individuals, including Russians, Ukrainians, and Germans, leading to the deaths of approximately 10% of the total population during that period.
Despite its historical significance, the Holodomor is not widely taught in middle schools, high schools, or colleges. Additionally, there are few major Hollywood films that depict the horrific events of the famine.
The Holodomor remains a critical yet underrepresented chapter in history, with ongoing discussions about its recognition and commemoration.
