AIPAC Sends First-Ever Delegation to Taiwan, Hosted by President Lai

Taipei, Taiwan (RoC) - On October 27, 2025, Taiwan President Lai Ching-te hosted a delegation from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) in Taipei, marking the first visit of its kind to Taiwan. President Lai welcomed over 200 delegates, describing the reception as a "warm welcome."

During the event, President Lai drew parallels between Taiwan"s defense efforts against China and Israel"s historical struggles, referring to the biblical story of David and Goliath. He praised Israel"s "determination and capacity" as a "valuable model" for Taiwan.

Additionally, Taiwan is advancing its multi-layer air defense system, inspired by Israel"s Iron Dome technology. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance cooperation among Taiwan, the United States, and Israel in areas such as security, trade, and semiconductors, promoting the concept of "peace through strength."

This visit comes amid ongoing discussions about international relations and security dynamics in the region, reflecting Taiwan"s commitment to strengthening ties with key allies.
