A 36-year-old mother of three, Adrian Colton, survived a terrifying bear attack in Alaska while stepping out of her home for a morning run. The incident occurred when the bear pounced on her from behind a neighboring house, dragging her approximately 100 meters before a neighbor intervened upon hearing her screams.
Emergency medical responders arrived to find Colton conscious but suffering from severe head injuries and significant bleeding. She was quickly transported to a hospital in Anchorage, where she underwent surgery and is currently in recovery.
Bear attacks, although rare, are a serious concern in Alaska, where wildlife encounters can occur unexpectedly in residential areas. This incident highlights the dangers that residents face in regions where human and wildlife habitats overlap.
As Colton continues her recovery, local authorities are urging residents to take precautions when living near bear habitats. For more on similar situations and recent developments in community safety, see our earlier coverage on wildlife interactions in urban areas.
