In a recent post on X, user Sólionath stated that Antifa should be designated as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) by the Trump administration. Sólionath argued that such a designation would enable significant legal restrictions and prosecutorial powers against the group.

If the State Department were to classify Antifa as an FTO, Sólionath noted that under 18 U.S.C. § 2339B, material support could be halted through injunctions. Additionally, under Executive Order 13224, the Justice Department would have the authority to freeze or seize assets belonging to prominent Antifa members and sanction them to prevent financial or material assistance from related charities or NGOs. The Attorney General could also issue warrants for searches and data collection under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA, 50 U.S.C. § 1801 et seq.) without the need for probable cause.

Sólionath emphasized that the ability to dismantle leftist organizations is just one executive order away. The post also mentioned that organizations like the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and the John Brown Gun Club are materially affiliated with Antifa and could be targeted for proscription and dismantlement.

This discussion follows recent developments in political discourse surrounding Antifa and its activities. For related coverage, see the article on four individuals arrested for projecting Trump and Epstein images onto Windsor Castle.
