China has unveiled its new FK-3000 Very Short Range Air Defense (VSHORAD) system, designed to counter drone swarms effectively. The announcement came on August 25, 2025, highlighting the system’s advanced capabilities for modern battlefield scenarios.
The FK-3000 features a 30mm Gatling gun and a phased-array radar, along with two pods that can hold 96 quad-packed micro missiles. These missiles have a striking range of 300 meters to 12 kilometers, enabling a formidable volume of firepower against aerial threats, particularly swarms of drones.
This development comes amid increasing global concern over the proliferation of drone technology in military conflicts. As previously reported, various nations are enhancing their defense systems to address this evolving threat, with China positioning itself as a leader in air defense innovation.
