Federal authorities arrested two men from Utah, Adeeb Nasir, 58, and Adil Justice Ahmed Nasir, 31, in connection with a plot involving an incendiary device placed under a FOX 13 News vehicle in Salt Lake City on September 12. The device was discovered lit but did not detonate, according to court documents.

An FBI search warrant executed at the suspects" home in Magna revealed two hoax devices, which were initially described as weapons of mass destruction but were later confirmed to be real. The search also uncovered explosive components, firearms, illegal narcotics, and related paraphernalia. Bomb squads from the Salt Lake City Police and Unified Fire Authority assisted in the operation, evacuating the surrounding neighborhood.

The Nasirs are facing felony charges that include threat of terrorism, possession of weapons of mass destruction, and attempted aggravated arson. Both men are prohibited from possessing firearms due to prior narcotic use and are currently being held without bail at the Salt Lake County Jail.
