A fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po, Hong Kong, on November 26, 2025, has resulted in the deaths of at least 36 people, including one firefighter, and left 279 individuals unaccounted for. The blaze, which is the deadliest fire in Hong Kong in 29 years, was ignited by flammable scaffolding during ongoing renovations.
The fire spread rapidly due to strong winds, prompting authorities to issue a Level 5 alarm. More than 900 residents were evacuated from the affected towers. Dozens of individuals have been hospitalized, with seven reported to be in critical condition.
