Maj. Gen. Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi, the former Military Advocate General for the Israel Defense Forces, was arrested and placed under house arrest last weekend. She faces allegations of leaking a video that purportedly shows the sexual assault and gang rape of a Palestinian prisoner at the Sde Teiman Detention Camp.
On the night following her arrest, Tomer-Yerushalmi reportedly attempted to commit suicide by swallowing a bottle of sleeping pills. She has since been transported to a hospital for medical attention.
