Russia"s Federal Security Service (FSB) has arrested a 51-year-old woman in Novosibirsk for allegedly planting and detonating an improvised explosive device on the Trans-Siberian Railway in the Zabaykalsky Region. The FSB reported that the suspect acted on instructions from Ukrainian intelligence services and received $8,000 for the operation.
The woman is accused of assembling the explosive device, placing it on the railway tracks, and filming the explosion to send to her handler. She faces charges of sabotage, which carries a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison, as well as additional counts of treason and illegal explosives production, which are still under investigation. A court has ordered her pretrial detention.
