On October 7, 2025, the situation in the Gaza Strip remains critical as the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) continue their military operations. Two years ago, Hamas initiated Operation al-Aqsa Flood, which has led to ongoing conflict in the region.

Currently, the IDF controls 251 square kilometers of the Gaza Strip, accounting for 69% of the total area. On August 20, the IDF launched Operation Gideon"s Chariots II, targeting full control of Gaza City. As of now, the IDF has achieved control over 70% of Gaza City.

The districts of al-Durraj, Sabra, and the affluent neighborhoods of Remal (North and South) remain outside of IDF control within Gaza City.
