As of October 8, 2025, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) control 69% of the Gaza Strip, amounting to 251 square kilometers of territory. This situation follows the initiation of Hamas"s Operation al-Aqsa Flood two years ago.
On August 20, 2025, the IDF launched Operation Gideon"s Chariots II, with the objective of gaining full control over Gaza City. Currently, the IDF has achieved control over 70% of the city. The districts that remain outside of IDF control in Gaza City are al-Durraj, Sabra, and the affluent neighborhoods of Remal (North and South).
