Iran possesses over 20,000 missiles capable of targeting Israel, according to Patricia Marins, a defense analyst. In a recent statement, she emphasized that this arsenal has been developed over the past 20 years and includes more than 15 different models of ballistic and cruise missiles.

Marins addressed claims that Iran only has 2,000 to 3,000 missiles, suggesting that such figures are misleading and stem from unreliable sources. She argued that a military industry like Iran"s, which is reportedly three times larger than North Korea"s, would not take two decades to produce a limited number of missiles.

She estimates that Iran"s missile stockpile includes approximately 5,000 to 8,000 ballistic missiles, with a significant portion being cruise missiles. Marins noted that these missiles require reconditioning every 5 to 8 years, a process that involves replacing fuel and explosive payloads. This reconditioning is essential but costly, potentially impacting the logistics of Iran"s missile capabilities.

Marins pointed out that Iran is currently focusing on ballistic missiles due to limitations on cruise missiles" ability to reach Israel without being targeted. She also mentioned the expansion of rotational silos, which are crucial for maintaining Iran’s retaliatory capacity. This work is reportedly being conducted at various facilities and is being monitored by Western satellites.

While the situation remains tense, Marins indicated that a conflict could arise at any moment, although the exact timing is uncertain.
