Abolfazl Zohrevand, a member of Iran"s National Security Commission, announced that Tehran has received a new batch of Russian-made MiG-29 fighter jets. This statement was made public on September 22, 2025.
In addition to the MiG-29s, Zohrevand claimed that Iran has also acquired the Russian-made S400 defense missile system, with its first tests reportedly conducted in late July 2025. Furthermore, he indicated that Iran is set to receive the Chinese-made HQ-9 missile system and the Russian-made Su-35 jets, which Tehran had requested over five years ago.
