#BREAKING | Iris Stalzer, 57, the newly elected Social Democrat mayor of Herdecke, Germany, is in critical but stable condition after being attacked outside her home. The assault occurred around midday, during which she sustained multiple stab wounds. Stalzer was airlifted to Bochum"s Knappschaft University Hospital for treatment.
Authorities have detained her 15-year-old adopted son at the scene. He reported that Stalzer was attacked by "several men." Police are currently investigating potential motives for the attack, including possible political connections following her election victory in September. As of now, no other suspects are in custody.
