Israel and Iranian Opposition Initiate Talks on Peace and Prosperity

Israeli President Isaac Herzog and Minister of Innovation Gila Gamliel are engaged in direct talks with representatives from the National Union for Democracy in Iran (NUFDI), a group representing the Monarchist-Nationalist wing of the Iranian opposition. The discussions focus on two pivotal initiatives: the Iran Prosperity Project (IPP), aimed at post-Islamic reconstruction, and the proposed Cyrus Accords, a peace treaty between a future Iran and Israel.

During the “Beyond the Horizon” 2025 conference, Gamliel stated that the dialogue marks a significant step towards establishing the Cyrus Accords. She emphasized, “A regional vision without the Islamic Republic is a vision shared by us and by the Iranian people, and today it is closer than ever.” Her remarks underscore Israel"s commitment to fostering stability and prosperity in the region.

The Iran Prosperity Project outlines plans for economic and social reconstruction following the anticipated collapse of the current Iranian regime. The Cyrus Accords, named after the ancient Persian king Cyrus the Great, aim to formalize peaceful relations between Israel and a democratic Iran, reinforcing Israel’s broader strategy of regional cooperation as seen in the Abraham Accords.
