Israel has proposed the establishment of a demilitarized zone in southern Syria, according to reports. This proposal includes the creation of a zone east of the existing United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) buffer zone, where military forces and heavy weapons would be prohibited. The specific size of this proposed demilitarized zone has not been disclosed.

Additionally, the proposal suggests expanding the UNDOF-administered buffer zone by two kilometers into Syrian territory. It also designates other areas south of Damascus as a no-fly zone.
