Israel announced it will not reopen the Rafah border crossing with Egypt on Wednesday. The decision is based on Hamas"s incomplete return of 28 deceased hostages" bodies as part of a U.S.-brokered ceasefire agreement. So far, only four bodies have been transferred, prompting Israel to impose restrictions on aid to Gaza until full compliance is achieved.
This development comes amid ongoing tensions in the region. As previously reported, Israel has also halved the number of aid trucks to Gaza, citing violations of the ceasefire by Hamas.
