MEXICO CITY – Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced on Thursday that she will travel to Washington, D.C. on Friday for the 2026 FIFA World Cup draw. During her visit, she will hold a brief meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, marking their first face-to-face encounter.
In addition to her meeting with President Trump, Sheinbaum is scheduled to meet with Canada"s Prime Minister Mark Carney. These discussions are part of ongoing preparations for the review of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) and broader North American trade discussions.
