A New York judge has dismissed two terrorism-related murder charges against Luigi Mangione, who is accused of the fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. The judge cited insufficient evidence to prove that Mangione intended to intimidate civilians or influence policy.
Despite the dismissal of the terrorism-related charges, second-degree murder and other weapons charges against Mangione remain in place. He is scheduled to return to court on December 1 for a hearing regarding the defense"s motion to suppress key evidence.
