Pakistan"s defense minister, Khawaja Asif, issued a stark warning to the Taliban following the collapse of peace talks in Istanbul, stating that Islamabad is prepared to "completely destroy the Taliban regime and drive them back into the caves." This statement comes amid rising tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, particularly after a series of attacks on Pakistani territory that Islamabad attributes to militants operating from Afghanistan.
Pakistani authorities have accused the Afghan government of "evading peace and shifting the blame" for the failure of the recent negotiations. The deteriorating relationship between the two nations has heightened concerns about security in the region.
As previously reported, similar situations have arisen in other regions, such as the recent developments involving armed Druze factions targeting Syrian government checkpoints in Kanaker, highlighting ongoing conflicts in the area.
