Samir Geagea calls for dismantling illegal armed groups in Lebanon

Lebanon"s Lebanese Forces (LF) leader Samir Geagea stated that the ongoing debate regarding the country"s participation in a “mechanism” with military or civilian representatives is irrelevant. He emphasized that the critical decision for the Lebanese state is to dismantle all illegal armed groups operating within the country.

Geagea warned that without this action, all other efforts would be “a waste of time.” He argued that dismantling these groups is essential for Lebanon to establish a true state, achieve stability, remove Israeli presence from Lebanese territory, return to the armistice agreement, and focus on reconstruction and economic recovery.
