Türkiye, Syria, and Jordan have signed a trilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at reviving the historic Hejaz Railway. The agreement was finalized on Thursday, September 25, 2025.
As part of the MoU, Türkiye will complete a 30-kilometer missing link of the railway in Syria. Additionally, Jordan will be responsible for managing the maintenance of the locomotives used on the railway.
The Hejaz Railway, originally constructed in the early 20th century, has historical significance and is expected to enhance transportation and connectivity in the region.
