Trump Accuses Europe of Funding Russia Amid Oil Imports Debate

In a phone call with European leaders today, former President Donald Trump accused EU countries of indirectly funding the Russian military by continuing to purchase Russian oil. This statement comes amid ongoing tensions regarding the war in Ukraine.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen responded by highlighting that EU nations have significantly reduced their imports of Russian oil since the conflict began, clarifying that only Hungary and Slovakia are still importing Russian oil. During the call, European leaders proposed sending representatives to the U.S. within 48 hours to establish a working group on sanctions.
