President Theodore Roosevelt was responsible for the construction of the West Wing. His successor, William Howard Taft, made the Executive Office oval in shape. Franklin D. Roosevelt added the entire East Wing and included an indoor pool for his personal use. President Harry S. Truman undertook a major renovation, gutting the entire White House. Richard Nixon added a bowling alley, while Barack Obama included a basketball court in the premises.
