Ukraine"s Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR), Kyrylo Budanov, reported that Russian military personnel are currently operating on Aves Island, Venezuela. The island is situated less than 350 kilometers southeast of Puerto Rico.
Budanov stated that the troops are part of the Russian Ministry of Defense’s Equator Task Force (ETF), which is led by General Oleg Makarevich. The ETF is reportedly headquartered on the mainland of Venezuela.
