The U.S. State Department has approved an $825 million arms package to Ukraine, providing the country with 3,350 ERAM air-launched missiles. This significant deal, announced today, also includes advanced GPS/INS systems equipped with SAASM modules and a range of related equipment.
The package encompasses essential components such as containers, pylons, spare parts, mission planning software, as well as training and logistics support. This latest assistance aims to enhance Ukraine's defensive capabilities amid ongoing conflict in the region.
The decision comes as part of the U.S. commitment to support Ukraine against external threats, particularly in light of escalating tensions with Russia. The provision of these missiles, which have a range of 240 to 450 kilometers, signifies a strategic move to bolster Ukraine's air defense and offensive capabilities.
As previously reported, the U.S. has steadily increased military aid to Ukraine over the past few years, reflecting a broader strategy to ensure stability in Eastern Europe.
