USS Mitscher and Lebanese Navy conduct joint patrol in Mediterranean Sea

The USS Mitscher, a vessel of the US Navy, conducted a joint maritime patrol with Lebanese Navy vessels in the Mediterranean Sea today, according to a statement from CENTCOM. This operation aims to enhance interoperability and security cooperation between the two naval forces.

This joint patrol follows a recent $14.2 million aid package from the United States to support Lebanon"s Armed Forces. The aid is part of efforts to assist Lebanon in disarming non-state actors, including the Iran-backed Shiite militia Hezbollah.
