The Presidential Leadership Council of Yemen, based in Aden and internationally recognized, has announced its readiness to join the Abraham Accords. This council is backed by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

In a statement, the Yemeni government called for the establishment of an international coalition to combat the Ansarullah movement, commonly known as the Houthis. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, emphasized the need for collective action following the failure of peace efforts.

"After the failure of peace efforts, there is a need for collective and decisive actions to establish peace. Therefore, today I call for the formation of an effective international coalition to restore security and stability in Yemen," al-Alimi stated.

He further described the Houthis as having evolved from a rebel group operating in remote areas to a fully-fledged international terrorist organization. Al-Alimi claimed that the Houthis are now equipped with a modern arsenal from Iran, including ballistic missiles, strike drones, and unmanned boats.

This development comes amid ongoing tensions in the region and highlights the urgent need for international cooperation to address the situation in Yemen. For more on related coverage, see recent developments in international relations.
