Video: Footage shows President Andry Rajoelina fleeing Madagascar amid Gen Z protests. The protests began on September 25 over water and electricity shortages, escalating into an uprising against corruption and poverty. Rajoelina departed on a French military aircraft after the army sided with mass protests. He initially flew by helicopter to Saint Marie Island, then boarded a plane to Réunion before reportedly traveling to Mauritius or the UAE. The evacuation was authorized by French leader Emmanuel Macron. Major General Demosphen Picolas is expected to be the likely interim leader of Madagascar.
