#BREAKING | Albanian Judge Fatally Shot in Tirana Courtroom
Appeals Court Judge Astrit Kalaja was shot and killed during a session at the Tirana Court of Appeals on Monday, October 6, 2025. The shooting occurred when a defendant in a property dispute case opened fire in the courtroom. The gunman has been identified as 30-year-old Elvis Shkëmbi.
Authorities confirmed that Shkëmbi fled the scene but was quickly apprehended by police. The revolver used in the attack was recovered by law enforcement officials.
