Forces affiliated with Yemen’s Southern Transitional Council (STC) have officially taken over the protection of the Al-Aqla oil facility located in the Shabwa governorate. This facility is considered vital to Yemen’s energy sector.
The protection of the Al-Aqla site is seen as critical for sustaining oil production and preventing disruptions in the region. The STC"s control of the facility is expected to impact the overall stability of Yemen"s energy resources.
As previously reported, similar situations have arisen in other regions, such as when recent developments in Sudan highlighted the seizure of oilfields, affecting the country"s economy.
The takeover of the Al-Aqla facility marks a significant step for the STC in its ongoing efforts to secure key energy assets in Yemen.
