New satellite images indicate that the USS Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group (CSG-12) is currently moving west and is located south of Sicily, approximately 56 miles (90 km) northeast of Malta. As a result, the USS Gerald R. Ford will not participate in the bombing campaign against Venezuela.

This development means that the United States will have 115 Tomahawk cruise missiles available for potential use against Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, which is 35 fewer than the number deployed against Muammar Gaddafi in 2011.
